oskar is my male cat of 3 years... i love him dearly... but his meowing is driving me insane... and i dont know what to do anymore... and taking him to the vet with out a specific cause is just lost money... (not that i wouldnt... but i live below the poverty level for canadas standards)

im assuming it has something to do with the new kittie i got recently... had her for maybe 4 months now... but his meowing has been going on before she came along...

now the strangest part is is that when he meows... i follow him and he leads me to the bath tub... now that is where i give him his catnip... so it doesnt make a mess all over the floor... but when hes on his meowing fits thats not what he wants... i give it to him and then a few minutes later hes meowing again...

also... i think he might be obsessive/compulsive about his litter... i got him this special litter that i can flush down the toilet so that i can chage it more often to control the smell (also cause its bio degradable and i care about the enviroment)... the problem is is that he sometimes uses it 3 times in a row... and demands that i change it all 3 times before he uses it... can get frustrating at times you must admit...

and ya you can easily say that its the new kittie asia... but this has been going on long before she came along... he usally meows late at night (1 or 2 am) and early in the morning (between 7 and 9 am)... use to be specifically between 8 and 8:30 am that he would wake me up... but now its not even that specific...

does any 1 have any ideas... cause im planning on moving real soon (from canada to atlanta) and then taking a little trip after... and im gonna ask my friends to watch him for me... but i want to have this fixed before then...
i was even going as far as to think about giving him to a better family before i move because maybe im not treating him right or something... i really dont wanna do that... but i love him so much and his happiness is far more important them my selfishness... but thats only if im completely desperate...

ya i got him fixed when i first got him... the thing with this is that it seems more of a whining then anything else... like hes begging me for something... but i just cant figure out what... maybe he is suffering some how... but i took him to the vet before and they thought it was a urinary tract infection (which he had before) because i found cat urine in a few important boxes of mine... so they gave me meds to give him... but it turns out that there wasnt anything wrong... that it was the kitten asia that had urinated in the boxes... i dunno...

It's probably something to do with the new cat, and maybe with it using the litter? That's a guess.... But seeing as how cats can be very picky about their litter.

What if you try two boxes in different areas of the apartment/house?
