I haven't bought any of the "kits" or books on this, just going off of stuff on the internet. From what I can tell there are 2 ways:
1 - keep doing less litter in the, I have a thick turkey pan fitted to the toilet bowl, until there's just a little bit then some cut small holes (already using flushable litter).
2 - put water in the pan to get em use to it.

The concern is my 9 month old lil girl loves to fling around the litter, so I'm not sure if she's gonna take to no litter at all and probably end up putting paws in water and then might freak out on the whole thing. She also covers up everything, like if she accidentally pees a lil on the outside of box or paws a tootsie-roll over the side, she'll push litter outside the box and cover it.

Now I know how and why parents gets so excited about toilet training their kids hehe. First try at the toilet and when she did #1 I could've loved her to death  Then another #1 and finally #2 bit later - she got lottsa treats and affection last night!

For those that have done this, once you got em doing the business while on the toilet seat how did you get to the "next step"?

I dunno, I think if I put litter on the seat itself and no where's else she'll aim for that instead of in between the hole.

I'll let it go until I run out of litter in the pan from scooping, then decide from there...
