Meet our two new rescue kitties.
Panther is all black, 4 months old.
Ferdinand is orange/white and 8 weeks.

That's "Tessa" the setter dog getting to know the kitties. Fortunately both kittens are pretty comfortable with dogs. :p

How big should an 8 week kitten be? Ferdinand is just over 1 pound. He seems pretty tiny to me. Do you all think he is a runt? Apparently he was the 7th one in a litter. We did not get to see the other 6. He was the last one left!

Here is a picture from a few minutes ago. They spent their first few hours with access to the whole bedroom, and now are back in their "quarantine" bathroom, all tuckered out. They ran everywhere, climbed everything, and in general created lots of wonderful kitten havoc! :p

They are a normal size for their age. They appear very alert and healthy.
Very cute, I like the contrast in color.
Thanks for the reassurance. I kept reading different places that a cat should be 2 pounds at 8 weeks, and having not seen the rest of the litter, wondered if our little Ferdy was a total runt, not that we would feel any different about him, but we just want him to be healthy/happy. We had a cat once with a heart problem and he was small.

Yeah, I think the colors are nice too. :)
