My kitten will not stop passing gas! Everytime I pick her up, or she gets in my lap it happens.

Is this something serious maybe? I recently switched her from Nutro Natural to Natural Balance, without much of a transition.. because she hadn't responded this way when I switched her before. So do you think that's all it is, and that it should go away in the next few days?

First thing that comes to mind - has your cat been wormed recently? Roundworms are a major cause of gas. And they are so tenacious, that most vets recommend treating even indoor only cats a couple times a year. If your cat ever had worms, there is risk of reinfestation, since roundworm eggs can live in your house for up to two years! Your kitty would just have to pick one of the eggs up on his feet and swallow during grooming to end up fully infested. I'd talk to my vet about a worm treatment.

The change of food may be the cause, too. How recently have you changed it? If within the last couple days, I'd go back to the Nutro Natural and then gradually switch foods over a week's time. If it's been over a week, I'd wait another two and see if he improves.

Sometimes, there are diets that just don't agree with a kitty, and it's time to try a new food. One of my cats can't eat Science Diet, but is fine on Meow Mix! If all foods are causing the symptoms, then you may want to talk to your vet about a sensitive stomach diet.

Also, it's a disappointing fact that some cats are just naturally more gassy than others. Each cat's digestive system is unique, and sometimes, there is no particular cause for gassiness.
