Missy has her first long term eye checkup this morning since her latest corneal sequestrum surgery several months ago. I think it is fine, but the eye surgeon has surprised me in the past with bad reports. :deal My avatar pic is her in better ocular health from years ago.

Keep your paws crossed that we get through this with flying colors. I'd like nothing more than to tell this surgeon goodbye for good!! Missy is getting eye drops for lubricating only once a day now. Just a standard OTC eye moisturizing drop and she takes it like a trooper. Sweet baby girl is about 18 now and still going strong! We love this little bundle of attitude!

Me too!! An 11 year old came into the shelter today and has a corneal sequestrum developing on her eyeball. Sad to see this. I'm not sure if the shelter will foot the bill for such an expensive removal surgery, but if it's not removed it will get larger, deeper and cause a lot of pain, possible removal of the eye and MUCH more expense! So sad to see these old cats given up like this.

Marcia, I hope you'll be her advocate...You know better than probably anyone there, how important it is to take care of this quickly...
Would the shelter take donations in her name, to help with surgery costs??

Interesting question. I will ask about possibly doing this. Maybe through Go Fund Me. Has anyone else used this method? I may post this as a separate thread question in the forum. Thanks for getting my brain going so early in the AM!
