Just curious who, here, gives thier cats the rare peice of "people food"?

We do, but we make sure to look up if it's safe for them first, and we also make it teency-tiny small for them. They only beg at us when it's Chicken that we have, though, thankfully. And they're so cute when they beg we don't care. Hehehe. Anymore, we buy a lil extra of some foods because we know they'll want some.

They normally eat kitten food, wet and/or dry, but some times it's nice to give a treat. :) Curious who else does so?

I told myself I would not give my kitty any kind of people food. Until he grew of age and learned that he could get under my skin - and I gave in  . I give him mainly vegetables and fruit since these are things I eat a lot of every day. So he is just like me - loves apples, cantaloupe, watermelon, tomatoes, turnip greens, spinach and all of that good green stuff. I have asked the vet about it and she said that it is very good for him also telling me how great he looked.(I only give him a small amount - I try not to overfeed him)
Always keep in mind that some things are really bad for kitties - like onions, milk, sweets so I never give him things as such
I hope this helps

I rarely feed them human food but sometimes I give them little bits in the tiniest amounts like a penny sized piece of spam or a Tablespoon of milk, etc. In moderation it shouldnt hurt unless its some type of food not recommended for cats.

Ok I give in to cheese for Twinkie, he never really cares much but for cheese, wow he is looney.

Sugar, well I dont really give her much since she likes anything really and she easily throws up also

We give them mainly meaty-stuff.

We we make Chicken, we'll crumb some up for them. When we make Flounder, (yes, expensive home made fish) we give them some of that too, smushed up. We let them SNIFF everything, though. LOL.

Boo likes some Noodles - from Chicken Noodle soup. LOL.

They've had Turkey the rare times we have it. Ham, once, but she puked it, so never again with Ham.

Not much else.

LOL, oh, Drizzle once chomped down on a french frie that fell on the floor, hehe, before we could stop him. Too greasy for kitties. And he once went and snuck over and bit into my sister's whopper! before we said "no, no, no whopper for babies!" and gave him a kitty treat instead. LOL.

Lil Minx.

Boo LOVES the SMELL of Coffee. And Drizzle LOVES to get a kiss when we've eaten Chocolate. LOL. But they never eat that stuff.

Honestly, I usually let Casey at least smell anything that I am eating, not very often does he acutally want any of it. Usually only wants it if it's meat, and the one weird food I've found he liked was Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. Yah, I know that sugar is not great for kitties, but he's only had a couple pieces, very small pieces in the 7 months I've had him.

All the animals know as soon as we are done eating they will be able to have some leftovers. The cats dont usually get anything.. unless it tuna or chicken something like that. My dog is the big table scrap eater, with two little kids at our house, he sometimes gets more than he should. I guess at 8 years old he is doing jut fine and isnt gonna die from table food once in a while!

When Jerry got sick from hartz flea medicine (he was in sezures all day and came very close to dying) When he finally threw up and started to feel better, I gave him some ice cream because I knew he should eat something and ice cream always makes me feel better when i am sick. Now every time i eat breyers mint ice cream, Jerry thinks he is entitled to a small bowl of his own. If I dont give him any he hounds me for some of mine, so I usually let him have a little bowl of his own.

It is so funny! I have never heard of a cat to love the smell of coffee before...Boo sounds like my kind of girl
She's so funny -- I come home from Dunkin Donuts with my friend and she sniffs me when I pick her up -- almost like she'd lick the inside of my mouth if I let her! LOL She's so like me...

The only thing Velvet has ever expressed any interest in as far as people food is dairy products. She loves milk, yougart and melted ice cream. I know most cats are supposed to be lactose intolerant, but I really don't think she is. She doesn't vomit or get diarrhea afterwards. I never let her have more that a few licks anyway.

LOL. Casey sounds like a Cutey. Got any pics?

As for sniffing, I can't eat *anything* without Drizzle sniffing it. He must aprove first, or else! :D He never wants anything except Chicken, Fish, or Turkey though. He's been interested in meat balls, but the sauce seems to turn him off of it, and I don't think Sauce is good for them, so it's a good thing he's never tried to eat one. Boo isn't as sniffy as he is, but likes to know what's going on if something catches her fancy. Drizzle will often stand on his hind legs, his front paws on someones knee, to get close to the table and take a whiff of anything we didn't put next to him for him to sniff. It's adorable.

Tortilla's and Dorito's and Bryers, oh my! :D

These animals sound adorable. Hehe.

As for dairy foods, once and a while (every 2 or 3 months) they'll have some milk, and it doesn't bother them at all. Cheese, though - they once had some when we where making homemade pizza. Wooo! STINKY AFTER EFFECT, lemme tell you. Never again. Hehe. NEVER. :?

We do buy them Kitty Ice Cream though, they like that.

Stormy used to get more stuff, but lately only the last few drops of milk from my cereal. Justin gets it too if Stormy isn't in the room. But I heard her stomach gurgle about a minute after I gave her some about a week ago, so I may stop giving it to her. She has gotten to where she doesn't like to eat anything other than dry cat food...she doesn't like wet food or any sort of people meat that I offer her. Not even the treats she used to like. Justin will eat a little of anything. I want to try to find them a good nutritious wet canned food that I can give them as a treat now and then.

I try not to give Jet too many people-food treats. That doesn't stop him from stealing, though. Last Christmas I baked a fruit cake with marzipan icing on top, and (unwisely) left it out without a covering. I came down the next morning to find an empty plate and a very plump and guilty-looking cat! I mean, whoever heard of a cat who likes marzipan and sultanas?
