Yes, it's shocking statistics. We see it a lot around apartment complexes, where people move and leave their unaltered cat behind to fend for itself and reproduce over and over again. Spaying and neutering is such a simple prodedure, I just can't understand why more people don't do it. It is certainly less expensive than dealing with an unwanted litter, and if someone can't afford to alter their pets, then they really can't afford to have one. Responsibility really isn't that hard.
