This will be long...I must explain my situation.
I got a cat from a shelter about 6 months ago and she has had loose stools ever since. My cat has been in and out of the vets office and on all sorts of special foods. She has also been on medication for this...Prednisone, anti-diahrea meds, and amoxi. (By the way, I must add that she has been tested for FIV, Fluek, and intestinal parasites. All of these tests were negative)
The vet wants to do a blood panel next, and then if that shows nothing...a anal scope, and surgery! I am in distress, my cat acts fine though. She's very playful and far from sick looking. But I was just looking for any other sugestions to try before I put her through more testing.
Thanks,
Susan

susanmary81, Has your cat been checked for intestinal bacteria which causes diarrhea? I have one kitty (Summer), whom I suspect has this problem, and I plan to get her checked soon. I originally had 3 pets who had this communicable disease. My vet gave me some yellow stuff in a plastic bottle, with a syrenge. After about 3 days of feeding them, the problem cleared up.

she hasn't been on that stuff....and I don't remember the vet mentioning something like that. However she has been checked on 3 seperate occasions for intestianal parasites. And those tests we negative. Would that be the same thing?
