Today I decided to bath Moby, so I cleared out the bathroom. I put his litter in the livingroom temporarily, and he decided to use it while out there. Anyway - while trying to poo it looked as if he was straining and nothing was coming out. Maybe it was because the TV was on and he was out in the open - I dunno.

He pooed more tonight out of my sight, and it appears normal albeit a little smaller. Is this a huge warning sign?? I might wait a day to be safe but I'm scared nonetheless.

I did bathe him - which he hated - but he's all lovey now. Like he forgave me or something. I gave him some wet food as a treat/to soften up his poo, but with all the wet fur licking he threw it up (in the living room :( ). I freaked out at first but you could see a lot of hair so I presume wet fur hairball.

Any idea what this could be? I read all these posts, but when it happens I'm clueless. I'm half scared it's diabetes (hard stool).

Wait a day or two.

These can be early warning signs, and they might not be, both occurance are very common as harmless things.

Some cats just like humans can become constipated from time to time, as long as this clears up in a day or two do not worry.

I would not worry about the vomiting too much yet either. My cats have had some nasty hairballs after a bath too, I normally will not feed them until well after they are dry and calmed down however, cause exactly that can happen, the stress, excitement of food, and fear can all cause them to vomit with the aid of food.

Let us know how it progresses!
