The vet put Satin on Amoxicillin for a possible UTI - however this time I'm having trouble getting her to take it.

Last time - after her surgry I simply mixed it in her wet food and she ate it no problem.

This time - it has a smell to it and she won't eat the food unless I do half a dose -- my question is - if I do half a dose twice a day instead of a full dose once a day -will it still work?

There is no other way for me to give it to her as she will not allow us to hold her much less lift her up in any way.

According to The Pill Book Guide to Medication for Your Dog and Cat, the usual feline dose of amoxi is 5-10 mg/lb once or twice daily. Depending on the daily dose your cat is getting, it may be fine to split it into two doses. It would be best to check with your vet, though. If you can't talk to your vet today, you might get an answer from a vet ER if you can find one to call.
