In bright light Kiki's pupils get thin (which I understand is normal), but that doesn't seem to happen on Charlotte (7 months). Charlotte's eye stay nice and round instead of thin. Does the color or age make a difference?

Not usually, I think they dilate in reaction to both light and activity/interest. If a young cat is very interested in what is going on, they will hold their eyes dilated wider to allow in more light so they don't miss any movement. Is that when you are noticing her dilated eyes? ...when she is active or playful?

Yep, kitties dilate their pupils when they are looking at anything fun, exciting, or interesting. Dilated pupils mean a kitty is ready to pounce, too.
Watch a cat's eyes when they are "lining up" a jump onto any elevated surface.

When you are looking at her eyes, when she is laying on the computer desk, what is her body language like? And what about the ambient light? Is it bright or dim? How long has she been in your home?
