I don't know if I'm posting this in the right forum, but I'm wondering; if I upgrade my membership, will I be able to insert photos into my posts? I'm not in the U.S.A., and last year was told that foreign members couldn't post photos that way. Is that still the case? I don't want to pay the extra money and not really get that ability.

You should be able to post images - I was, and I am not in the USA either.

If you can host them offsite, you can just reference them with an image tag - click the postcard icon to get a popup.

You can also upload them to the forum, but there are limits there as to how many etc you can upload.

I think you can create a photo gallery, and then link to them there.

I've tried hosting them offsite and it just didn't work. Nothing came up. I'd like to be able to have the actual photo show in the post, not just a link to my gallery photos.

My intro post (http://www.catforum.com/forum/41-meet-my-kitty/349194-abigail-my-nfc-kitten.html) was made before I upgraded membership, and as you can see there were images in that.

I have the images hosted on my own web storage, and referenced them like:

HTML:
[img]http://www.exyles.com/abigail/abi_20151222_001.png[/img]

Post the URL to the image, and we can see if we can help work out how to show it.

Well, I've never been able to do that. Ever. Tried Photobucket, got nothing. I was told at the time that it was because I was in Canada.

I used Photobucket and it worked for me, but it wasn't easy. I recall not having much trouble when I posted pics some years ago for my "album", but recent photos of my new kitty were problematic. I kept trying to upload pics and it didn't seem to be working, and then I did something, and got a a pic uploaded, but didn't know what I did that was right! lol! Some of the ones I thought didn't upload did, but I can't tell you how I did it!

I don't see why you can't post pictures. Everyone else can. I am not sure what the membership has to do with it except give you MORE space to store pics. I will put a plug in getting the lifetime premium membership though! I found it's well worth the one time fee of $50 USD!

I don't understand it either. I certainly know how to cut and paste links, I'm not exactly a newbie to internet forums. Yet, the only links I've ever been able to post that actually work are the ones to the internal galleries on this site. I can't make a picture actually show up in my posts (only the link), and links to off-site storage work just don't work at all when clicked on.
As I said, I'm only willing to pay for upgraded membership if I can be assured that these problems would be overcome.

Photobucket is extremely easy to use for posting pictures . Open the photo. On the right side of the screen there is an area that says "share this photo". Click on the link in the box next to IMG and it will automatically copy. Paste that into your post and you're done. Just make sure the photo is sized properly (no bigger than 600 x 800 pixels).
