So, we've started supplementing our kitties' diet with raw fish once a week. A completely raw diet isn't feasible for us at the moment, but I would like for the kitties to have some good, beneficial protein at least once or twice a week in addition to their regular food. What would you recommend? We did give them some nice raw yellowfin last night. I figured since it was sashimi grade, it should be perfectly fine for them.

The only thing I would worry about is the mercury in wild fish (I've heard even farmed fish can have it too).

Also, I've heard that tuna has some sort of chemical that's toxic to cats, and that's the real reason you shouldn't feed it to them (besides the mercury and/or oil and sodium from canned stuff)

Yikes! Well, I won't make that mistake again. Our grocery store carries whole trout(they're very small), would that be a better option? We have also discussed getting them chicken livers or other organ meat as an occasional treat.
