This stray cat we have sort of taken in over the past few months, who is quite small and looks pretty young have a bit of a belly. It's firm, but hasn't changed over the past couple of months, if anything has gone down very slightly. I am pretty sure it isn't pregnant and has been wormed once before with a worming treatment for all sizes.

Can anyone else shed some light? She's been that way since she first came and has been eating well for the past couple of months.

Deworming treatments typically need to be repeated again within 2-3 weeks of the initial treatment as the medication kills the live worms but not the eggs. You need to repeat treatment to kill the newly hatched worms before they are able to reproduce. Also, unless dewormed regularly and treated with a flea preventative, a stray will just keep getting reinfected by eating wormy prey or getting bit by tape worm carrying fleas.

So it's likely that worms are the culprit....
