I just had a quick question...

we have used Revolution on our kitten (5 months old) and she has recieved a few monthly doses of that but the woman who had her before us said that since she is an inside cat and the risks are little to none we can not use the revolution till spring.

that I understand and I am fine with. my worry is, the cat is going back with my girlfriend to her parents house over the holidays, apparantly her parents animals sometimes have flea issues.

I bought this Hartz? or something like that ($6.99) from kmart just as a temp flea repellant till she goes back up on revolution in the spring...

so all I am saying, will it hurt her to go from revolution to this and back to revolution?

i assume no but wanted to check.

The flea medicine used now seem to be a bit scary to me. Take Cracker for instant when we rescued him from outside he was INFESTED with fleas the poor little guy. Although I wasn't sure of his exact age I was guessing about 5-6 weeks. Most of the OTC products I looked at recommended usage at the age of 7 weeks if I remember right.

So I took him to the vet, they gave him a dose of Advantage and a little pill that the Vet called a starcap (?). Kinda like Program I think. After taking that pill the fleas began to drop off Cracker within hours! Kinda scary to think what was just put into my kitten that causes fleas to die so quickly. :shock:

I always buy my cats frontline. It is not very much more expensive than over the counter medication and you do not need an appointment to get it. Call any vet office and ask them how much it is. You can buy it in a single dose or three months at a time.

i agree, please don't use the hartz flea product.
a few months ago there was a report on the news about how dangerous it is on cats.

i use advantage without problems and now you can buy it at pet food stores.

Please dont use Hartz. I cant believe that product is still on the market! Anyways I'm sure alot of people are aware of what that product has done to many innocent pets, it kills! I know they have other flea products like Advantage or Revolution that I heard good reviews about :!:
