Andy Rooney was a Veteran of WW2 and for over 30 years he amused and informed us.
He was the cantankerous old uncle to several generations of American and we will not see his like again.

He was the original curmudgeon, and said it as he saw it. You are right when you say that we will not see his likes again. We will be worse for his loss.

He is now able to see his many of his buddies from WWII.

I remember the first time I saw "National Velvet" with Andy Rooney and Liz Taylor, I thought Rooney was cute. I was a kid at the time and had no concept of just how long ago that movie was made. When I saw Andy Rooney on 60 minutes a few weeks later, I was shocked and a little disturbed. But I've always enjoyed his commentary, and he will be missed.

heh, yeah, I told my mom that same story and she laughed at me for ten minutes before she told me I was confusing my rooneys.

Still, so long Andy, I did enjoy his commentary.

This is a sad thread, but that did make me smile, Rachael.

I'm glad I watched his last regular show last month.

While I'll miss him , he seems to have lived a full life on his own terms.
He got to speak his mind every week and got well paid for the effort.
When you look up "curmudgeon" in the dictionary there should be a picture of
Mr Rooney, but under the supposed ire there was a twinkle in his eye.
Well done Sir and rest in peace.
