Scabs periodically on chin

My cat is about the most robust, healthy little guy I've ever known, but one thing is troubling me. He seems to get about two millimeter circular scabs on his chin in the exact same place about once every two months or so. I don't know if he's getting into something and hurting himself while he investigates, or if he's got something wrong with his skin, or what.

I just pulled him into my lap to play with him, and saw something that looks a bit like a pimple where he usually gets his scab, and a different scab about a centimeter to the side. I've never seen a pimple-like thing on him before, but could... cat acne or something be causing these little scabs? Not sure if I should get him checked out or what.

Just a question...does he have a plastic food/water bowl?

I've read that cats CAN get cat acne, especially if they eat/drink from plastic.

Something about which to think. :)

Possibly had the same thing, possibly from plastic bowl, but really unknown. I didn't want to pick at it since I didn't know what it was. Took Toby to the vet and she gently picked it off, it was clean underneath, I changed to glass bowls and it never came back. Maybe a coincidence.
It is, actually, I have one of those plastic self-refilling things. I'll try switching him to glass and see if it gets better. Thank you!
Murphy gets feline acne every once in a while. Do the spots look like little specks of dirt? That's how they look -- like you should be able to brush it off like dirt. I've never used plastic bowls for him, but he manages to get it anyway. I've been told by a vet tech that it's no big deal, and sure enough, it does just go away by itself.
