Scottie is the cat that was found in the lumberyard where I worked when he was 2-3 weeks old. I fed him with an eyedropper and he did very well, but he was always a biter and kind of a crabby cat. He is my most intellegent cat and he always wants to be close and see what you are doing. Just don't touch him.
A few months ago I decided to try to work with him to get him to be a nicer cat. Of coarse it has never been much fun to give him attention because usually only bites and scatches would come of trying to pet him. I decided to give him a lot of good gentle attention and pets. As soon as he would get aggressive I would go away. He would always do best if I would offer him my fingers to smell before I would rub his nose or under his chin. (His favorite spots) He has gotten more and more tolerent of my attention and last night he actually came to me and got under the covers and purred! Maybe there is hope for my crab-ass cat after all! :D

That must have made your day! It would be such a great feeling to 'turn cats around' like you're doing, because you've got to believe he's also happier when he can have affection like that. Good luck, it sounds like you're doing the right thing.
