Bootsie's 11. She's not too fond of the little 6 week old we've had since he was a day old. About how long until she gets used to him? She hisses at him a lot but doesn't attack him, just hisses then runs. Ratchet likes to chase her. Shes acting out more and more now that we have him.

She’s telling him she thinks he's annoying and get out of her space. He’s an interloper in her perfect kingdom now ruined by his presence! It’s only going to get worse with the chasing etc from the kitten. They are crazy for the first two years. She is going to bat him and try to teach him kitty manners when she realizes he is here to stay. Not to worry.

If it’s a full blown cat fight~ biting, fur flying then worry. Usually it’s the old Tom cats that are so patient and good with kittens. They love being uncles to the new broods! Females from my experience aren’t always prone to be surrogate aunties. I’m sure there are lots of exceptions to that though.

They may eventually become friends. It will take time.
