I recently acquired an adult cat that was basically a rescue. She lived in a house with about 30 other cats and apparently wasn't getting enough food. She is extremely thin and has sever hair loss from mal-nutrition. I have an appointment with a vet to get her all caught up on shots and a full physical.
My question is does anyone have any tips on how to help her gain weight. Obviously she will begin to fill out with more food, but is there a certain brand or something special I can offer with the regular cat food that can help?
Thanks :)

Thanks so much for your replies. I just wanted to give you an update on our cat. The vet said she wasn't as skinny as I originally thought. He said a lot of what I saw was just the shape cats have naturally, you just can't tell when they have all of their fur. He did think she was thin and that her fur loss was from vitamin deficincy so he gave her some good vitamin injections to get her back on track and now I am giving her a good food and lots of loving. :D
