Stephen had all her shots as a kitten, but has not been back for anymore since my mom had her 3 years ago (she was about 2). I was used to my vet at home always sending us a postcard for pets to remind/inform when it was shot time, but the vet I used to take Stephen to sucks.

So, my question is, being an indoor 5 year-old cat, does she need additional shots?

I'm not sure about shots, but I think it's a good idea to bring her in for a checkup every year. I am still learning about what is necessary for vaccinations, some vets want to do them yearly but from what I have been reading, that isn't always necessary. Okay, hopefully someone more informed can answer this better than me...:)

An annual check-up is very important, but annual vaccines are *not* necessary (except rabies if required by the laws in your area). I'm working on an article that I hope to have up this weekend about vaccines. So don't make any sudden moves!

Cheers,
Dr. Jean
