I was wondering if anyone here knows much about showing cats in the UK, and if there is a domestic cat pet entry? I know there is for guinea pigs, i was wondering if the same for cats. I was thinking about it for butch. Hes been nutered so would that effect it?

I think of it as a waste of time. Bassicly all you do, is fatten your cat up. Then at the shows, you just put her on a pillow, and then the judge comes by, looks at her, and then walks off to the next cat. Its pretty stupid :) .

Showing cats

You might get some tips from 'Cat World' magazine. I've seen quite a few articles on showing in there. I don't take it regularly, but I'm sure I've seen something about showing domestic cats. Also, there are contacts in the 'ads' section that might be able to help (associations of different kinds, etc)

For the record -- there *are* divisions for neutered, unregistered cats. And it's not necessarily to just fatten them up and have them sit on a pillow -- they have divisions for performance and obedience as well -- that sort of thing. I'm not sure about the UK though -- I live in the U.S. But I would think they'd have the same thing over there, right? If you find something in your area let us know -- and good luck! :)
