I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE playing Sims! It is SO addictive! I start building them cool houses and the time just flies by! I don't really follow what versions are coming out when, I just play the one I have....but what is Sims 2? I'm sure that could be dangerous for me, because I would be playing it ALL THE TIME......!!!!!

Sims 2 is an entirely new engine of sims. It wont work with the old expansions but its INSANELY cool! EVERYTHING has been updated and made to be more realistic, you can create and or download custom content (like design your own furniture, hairstyles, makeup, clothing etc) Sims age, they can get pregnant, have children, and the children grow up to become adults, your sim will age as well to seniors and eventually they die. The Sims 2 was given Editors Choice by 5 different computer gaming magazines. Sims have memories, fears, lifetime goals, wants. Its less focused on their needs, they mostly take care of themselves so you can concentrate on fulfilling their lifetime goals. They can go insane, they can be abducted by aliens, the marriage ceremony is now a full fledged event, you can invite guests, design or pick out a wedding dress, either of the couple can get cold feet and walk out on their own wedding. Sims have memories, like if they had a traumatic experience as a child they have phobias from it as adults. I'm forgetting a lot i'm sure but if you go to http://thesims2.ea.com/about.php you can real all about it, and watch videos, check links (the gamespy reviews are hilarious)download the custom sim maker, etc.

Oh, go ahead, Payge, make me jealous! I just got the original game, and I barely have enough memory for it. I have a very old computer with very little RAM, and no room for more, I guess. Well, it will be new for me, but I won't be able to use any of the expansion games. :(

By the way, I think the RULES state somewhere that you can't be absent to play computer games. Sorry about that! Oh, if you can't find that, you'll just have to continue looking...... :)

I also LOVE the sims, and I've been anxiously awaiting Sims 2 for a year now. I've already pre-ordered my copy, I go to the store to pick it up on Wednesday! I can't wait.

Also of interest on Wednesday is Fable, I ordered that too. It's supposed to be a revolutionary RPG on the XBox. It certainly looks good. It will have to wait a few weeks, because sims 2 definitely comes first.

Wow, Sims 2 is SO involved! I can TOTALLY see how you would be up until 5am playing it! I would probably miss school because of it! I will buy it for sure now that I know about it!

I got it wednesday, and i've been addicted to it ever since, playing it nonstop, except for last night when I had to take Chaos to the emergency vet (don't worry he's ok, just a bruised paw)

I find it easier with a bit bigger house, I made up a nice house with three floors. The only thing that really irritates me is that when you have a lot of objects, it will pause for about 5 seconds when you go from buy objects back to play. I've also had two weird bugs: once my toddler sim got stuck in the oven somehow and I couldn't get her out. I sold the oven to see if that would help, and she disappeared completely! The other was when the headmaster was over for dinner, he got stuck somewhere and disappeared. I couldn't call him over again so my kids couldn't get into private school.

I played the old one a bit, but got frustrated/lost interest. People got hard to keep track off (to make them clean and use the bathroom), and making their careers get successful (balancing friendships). And of course it's supposed to be fun to turn people against each other and stuff - but I can't help but feel bad. hahaha - I'm lame.

I'm actually awaiting the next Grand Theft Auto... Most people probably wouldn't find that game entertaining on here, but I love it for some reason. Maybe it's because I like the Sopranoes...

Also awaits a couple other racing games, notably Grand Turismo 4.

The things I like: The quirks of the individual sims(when one of my sims was a toddler, she was bored in her crib and picked her nose, then she tried to shake it off, when that didnt work she wiped it on her mommy who had come to pick her up ROFL) The decorating options, the aspiration rewards (the re-energizer thingy kicks butt)building my own neighborhoods and stories.

Things I don't like: if you use the garden tool a lot with shrubs and flowers the gardener can't reach them and they die, then you can't delete them. I'm having a lot of trouble playing popularity and romance sims. Toddlers dont stay toddlers long enough, theyre soooo cute but they grow up fast!

Toddlers need like 2 or 3 more days.. you can't teach them everything so fast. Nanny's need to try to teach too.

To move stuff you "can't" move try this cheat.

Alt+Shift+C and type in Move_objectson

You can then delete or move anything.

Oh man, I just spent all day yesterday building a new neighborhood "Hollywood" I filled it with Jack Nicholson, Madonna, Julia Roberts, Val Kilmer, Patrick Swayze, the Hilton Twins, Richard Gere, Jessica Simpson and her hubby Nick, Sean Connery, Ben Afleck, Angelina Jolie, Orlando Bloom, Halle Berry, and Tom Cruise. So far Angelina Jolie is hitting on Madonna, Richard Gere is hitting on Julia Roberts, and Sean Connery beat up Jack Nicholson.
