after being spayed. She ate a little and I gave her pain meds. She settled down for the night. This morning she ate really well and had her pain meds. She hasn't pooped yet. Is this normal?

I'm not 100% sure but I think it's normal, as she has not eaten much until this AM. Hopefully someone else can be more helpful and/or she'll go soon.

If I remember correctly, some sedatives and/or anesthetics can be constipating. It's possible she was given something that blocked her up a bit. Give her plenty of water (mix lots of warm water into canned cat food that she can lap up) and maybe a dose of hairball remedy to help lubricate her GI tract. As long as she keeps eating normally, she should be just fine.
