My one-year old cat caught a snake today  He has NEVER done anything like this before. We got a new kitten a few days ago & the two seem to be getting along....playing with each other.....Does anybody think the snake killing incident could be in an effort to show 'superiority' to the new kitten? I cannot deal with snakes being brought home!!! YUCK!

Cats and kittens will automatically go after anything small that moves, especially if they are let outside. No, it is not a sign of dominance of one cat over a kitten. :) . Remembering when living in central Calif., it was in a very rural area . We had plenty of snakes around. My cats used to kill them when they found them, and other small animals also. The only way to keep your kitties from bringing their "trophies" to you is not to let them outside.
