I have a friend who owns two cats that are under a year. They are very healthy (just had a vet check recently this year), spayed and neutered, and have their shots and wormer, but the problem is, they are very uncoordinated! The cats run into walls and have trouble jumping on and off things. This only happens when they are playing. I've never seen this and I was curious if anyone knows anything about this behavior? Will they grow out of this?

I found this description of a cat called Spirit in abbycats.org/ He was a special cat, up for adoption.

Quote:

He likes to run and jump and play, but he will often miss his jumps and sometimes, particularly when he is tired, he is a little unsteady on his feet. He does what he can to keep up with whatever is going on and his zest for life is astonishing.

Hi
my 10 month old kitten used to be a bit like that, but he is growing out of it now (though he still regularly hits his head when coming in the catflap)

I think they are just young and exuberant

our kitten fell out of a tree, has fallen off fences, and used to run head first into things
he is getting more graceful and cat like now, we used to worry he would injure himself
he did bash his nose when he fell out of the tree and bled from one nostril (I was frantic, but no harm done)

I really wouldn't worry, I'm sure they will grow out of it

hope you have much fun with your 2 lovely cats
