Yesterday my daughter saw a cat hiding under a spruce tree in our yard and thought it was injured. So, I took a look at it and it seemed like it was shedding it's entire coat like a snake. The fur from behind the cat's neck was lifted up in a single piece as if it was scalped and underneath the cat was bald. There was no blood or any other signs of injury and the cat seemed normal and healthy otherwise, but the fur looked so odd. Do cats shed their entire fur like this, or did it have some sort of injury or disease?
