We ran over to the animal shelter today to drop off some blankets and walked around for a little bit. TONS of kittens and cats. A few pretty darn cute ones and one particular kitten that I cried when I left him behind. He was so sweet.

However, the guy I *really* fell in love with was this: Petango.com ? Meet Taxi, a 3 years 2 months Terrier, American Pit Bull / Mix available for adoption in SALEM, OR

I'm not a Pit Bull person but he had SUCH an amazing personality and was so incredibly sweet. If I was allowed dogs in my apartment I would absolutely have brought him home. You've gotta feel safe with that guy in the house, even if he is a giant marshmallow.

Yes, and most of the ones I looked at allow them BUT they all have breed restrictions and Put Bulls are at the top of EVERY restriction list.

I'm having a terrible time finding a nice, affordable and non creepy place with just two cats. With that guy it would be impossible.

They have breed restrictions in Oregon? We have some pretty intense Pit Bull rescue groups here and they stop all the restrictions pretty quickly.

IDEA- Troy can take him until you get a place that allows Pits!

I did talk to the shelter about him. She says that he is NOT good around other dogs (that kind of ruins the thought of heading to the coast and letting him run loose on the beach to catch frisbees and stuff) and he's got severe separation anxiety and needs someone home with him.

I did sponsor him though so he's covered and won't be put down. He'll have time to be adopted out.

He has wonderful, interesting eyes. Sponsoring him is a great way to help him find his forever home.

He is GORGEOUS! Pitbulls are actually illegal here in Aus and it is quite sad because I believe it's the type of people that mostly own and fight them that have given them a bad name. With the right socialization, they can be amazing dogs (unless of course they have bad genes) and they're such a nice looking dog too.
