I just think that Barnaby's "welcome home" routine is funny/cute.

He's almost always waiting at the door when I get home from work. He meows until I start to pet him. As soon as I touch him he will start to purr and make his way down the hallway to the corner room. He will only walk as long as I continue to pet him. If I stop, he will stop walking until I touch him again. Along the way he is rubbing his head on everything he passes by as to say "Welcome home to MY house. Now this is mine.... and this is mine... and this is mine..." He finally gets to the room and lays down next to his brush and of course you know what he wants then.

Wondering how all of your cats act.

My cat usually just glues himself to my ankle and follows me around, meowing very loudly all the time. Sometimes he bites me to get attention, then rubs his face against me afterwards!

Well my dogs are usually waiting for me at the door, and they kinda just run around and rub up against me and wag their tails while my cat watches from the top of the bookcase or comes running down the stairs. Then when the dogs are done being rowdy, she jumps down and wanders around my ankles while meowing and purring. Sometimes she meows and purrs at the same time! I didn't know that was possible...

ok here is what my cat does- As i come up to the front door and start turning the keys, he of course hears it and runs up to the door- waiting. Then, once I open the door he waits while I put my bag down, then I pick him up and he licks almost every inch of my face. Once I put him down, he bites my ankle and runs into the kitchen- to his bowl as if to say- "ok I was nice and cute and happy and welcoming... but can you now please FEED ME?!!!" Lolz!!! :lol:

my kitty usually sleeps on the couch while we are gone. when we get home he hears us outside the door and start meowing. when we come in, he will sit on the couch for a second and meow, then jump down, stretch, and come over meowing. then he usually tries to get us to go in the kitchen. :roll:

My cat has a different routine depending on who's coming home. When it's me he waits by the door having a big stretch then meows and purrs til I give him a big cuddle and kiss. I'll put him down and he'll keep circling my legs and purring until he gets fed. If it's my husband, he goes to the door, looks at him and lets out one meow as if to say 'oh it's just you' turns tail and wanders away!
