I brush my cats teeth every day. Wouldn't say they enjoy it, but they certainly are fine with the process. It takes only 1 minute for each cat. I also give them a light raw meal every night.
My two won't eat raw, even tho I keep trying from time to time. So they get fed a no-grain canned food (e.g.Wellness) and a little no-grain dry food which they like (e.g. Innova Evo, Taste of the Wild). Mixed in with their canned food is "Nature's Dentist" (mostly probiotic) which I think helps keep the tartar at bay. They only needed a dental cleaning to remove "moderate plaque" last year and they're both 7 yrs. now. http://www.petland.ca/cat/cat-health-care/nature-s-dentist-available-in-2-sizes.html
