This person is replying to a lot of topics so I'm going to be deleting his posts. (ie, the evidence.) I'll move any topics that he's started to the review forum so you can get the jist of his posts. Very typical troll, needs to be banned.
Sorry about all the topics in the review forum, I know there's a lot but I put them there rather than deleting them (I've deleted many replies to threads already...) so you guys could get a feel for what they're doing.
I was also told about the post by "guest," but it was already moved. I didn't see an announcement about it. I think it's better to announce it here. At the last site I helped moderate, we were allowed to edit, move to review, but not to delete first. I assumed those guidelines applied here. I could be wrong. Catman, what's the scoop? At that site, threads were not deleted by anyone other than the webmaster.
I don't mean to step on your toes, Rob, or anyone elses, but I think all of the mods should know--in case we get complaints about disappearing posts or threads that were questionable. We even put porn in review at the other site.
The previous year (before I joined) there had been an exodus of members because they thought the mods were power hungry. The truth is that some were. We are probably the exception. We treat our members with the respect they deserve...(even the jerks!) Seriously, I'm really proud that many members comment on the politeness here, and the fact that we seem to havea "zero" policy on flaming,
Is that who "guest" is, then? I assumed they were all threads. You had no choice, Rob. You would have been copying and pasting all day! I was referring to whole threads or posts deleted without the other mods knowing about it. That's what happened at the other site. My apologies! You know I think you're great. In fact.....
"I think I love you!!" (The Partridge Family)
Did I ever tell you all that I sang in County Chorus with Shirley Jones--when I was in high school? I know; you're too young to remember her. She played the mother. She grew up in a small town about 15 miles from here.
Oh, I feel so old! She was a big star in the movies before the Partridge Family, doing a lot of Rogers and Hammerstein musicals, much like Julie Andrews' roles. In fact, they are both about the same age, but Shirley Jones "made it" younger. She did Carousel and Oklahoma, which are two of my girls' favorite movies...even though they saw them only on tv. (They both bought the DVDs.)
Rogers and Hammerstein were the Andrew Lloyd Weber of their time. Both of the movies I mentioned, as well as The Sound of Music, are still being performed off Broadway, by touring companies, and college and high school groups. I believe that Oklahoma had the longest run in Broadway history until about ten years ago. Remember, you will be tested!
