I posted on here a while back about how my cat Aggie (the grey one) was howling at night and waking me up several times each night because she wanted to go outside. I spoke to an animal trainer who told me to ignore her.
my husband is the one who usually lets her out, so i started this new training when he was away for a week. When he came home I made him promise to NOT let her out before 5am (when we usually start waking up) and he stuck to it.
It has been 6 weeks now and she is a lot quieter at night. Sometimes she might meow, but she's now (believe it or not) using her inside voice :kittyturn and for the most part, she makes no noise at all and quietly sleeps on our bed. Perseverance has paid off!
The first week was the worst, and she'd go several days quietly and then get a notion and start howling again, but every week has seen an improvement. Some nights i just call her back into the bedroom and she comes back in, settles down, and goes to sleep. !!!

That's good news.....yes perseverance pays off. Glad to hear she's given up the night-time howling.
