Hello all,

I have two rather troublesome "indoor only" barn cats, one is very skittish and afraid of people and the other is...well, she's mean. To avoid the stress of a vet visit - not to mention the hopelessness of trying to get the cats into carriers - I used a mobile vet for the first time.

They came out yesterday morning at 9:30 and examined/vaccinated both cats, for rabies and distemper. After the vets left, both cats seemed to get back to normal pretty quick, but last night and this morning neither one ate much, and both are pretty lethargic. I don't see vomiting or diarrhea.

I've read a lot of posts about these being somewhat common side effects, but I'm wondering how long I should expect them to last?

I've read that cats do better with getting one shot at a time, although that's not really practical in most situations (two vet visits, two office charges, two times trying to herd cats into their carriers). You may want to call the mobile vet if they're not improving near the end of the day.
