We have an 8 yr old male domestic shorthair that will not hold down any food. He is losing weight and strength. We have taken him to a local veternarian and they cannot figure out what is wrong with him.
Here is what the vets have tried so far:
1. flagyl medication
2. amoxociline
3. prednizone
he has the symptoms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease, but the treatments for that have not been helping him.
He also seems to lose strength in his back legs and his tail when he was on the prednizone and flagyl medication.
Also, his fur is looking very oily and stragglie looking like he is not cleaning himself.
He is always hungry, but can never hold anything down.
Tomorrow 3/18 we are taking him to another veternarian for a second opinion.
Any Ideas?
