Some of you may have read about the tragic loss of our little Flame point we adopted last Saturday. It was soo upsetting, unexpected and I could not stop crying the whole day. Not to mention the hard part of having to explain to my 3 yr old daughter only to have her keep asking. Well after I calmed down late that evening I decided to try again.. so I started searching local rescue ads online and shelters thinking there's no way we will find another siamese. As fate would have it I received an e-mail early the next morning from a local no-kill cat rescue who had gotten a whole litter of flame point siamese babies, 10 weeks old.. same age as our little guy give or take a week or 2.
So my daughter and I decided to take a trip out there and did a day of shopping till they opened. I made it special and we went to Petco to get a collar and some extra toys and such.
We got to the shelter yesterday around noon and my daughter fell in love with one of the little girls. I fell in love with one of the severly cross-eyed boys  He was SOOO Cute!! Anyway so we chose the girl and 2 seconds after putting her in the car She meowed and my daughters says "ohhh buttercup whats wrong??" and she informed me that was her name.
Buttercup is very different. She's bold, Fearless and Loving. She's a big licker and kneader, and right now is passed out on my hip. I will say though that after the accident hubby and I turned into safety nazi's fixing anything and everything and securing this and that or throwing it away. It CAN NOT happen again, I dont think my heart could handle it. Anyway all that build up I guess I should show you the little sweetie.

Here she is not even 3 hours after bringing her home.

Here are the pics I took this morning...

Here she is with my 3 yr old this morning... excuse her appearance.. it was 6am :wink

this pic is PRICELESS daddy had just walked in from PT and startled them..

 I have no idea. She just pulled it out and started calling her that. I figured it was better than what she did want to name her "pink kitty" so we left it alone... :luv

The Princess Bride is a 1987 film (not a cartoon) about a little boy who is home sick and his Grandfather reads him a story. The film goes back/forth between the boy interacting with his Grandfather and the fictional story playing out for us viewers as Gfather reads to his Gson.
My husband and I find this to be one of our most favorite "quotable" movies...right up there with My Cousin Vinny and Pulp Fiction...among others...
