I received an invite to a wedding shower for my boss' fiance. It says

Room Shower
Kitchen: cobalt blue & yellow
Living Room: tan & eggplant

What is the heck does that mean?

That means that your boss' fiance wants things for the kitchen and the living room. She also included the color schemes for both rooms.

An invitation such as the one you received would annoy me (that is, if this request was printed right on the invitation). But you may be closer to your boss' future wife than I am to my boss' wife.

No, I'm not close to her at all. I've met her twice - once professionally as I created a Flash presentation for her company and once at a work BBQ. I've communicated many times with her through e-mail, also because I did their wedding invitations, but I really don't know her. My other boss (one of the ladies' hosting the shower) gave me the invite on the side in case I don't feel comfortable enough to go or if I just don't want to.

In most shower invitations I've received (and made), there is a little card included with stores where the couple registered and some invites have that printed at the bottom. I like this because it makes it easy to know what the couple wants.

I think that just specifying colors and rooms makes it hard, though. What if she gets three toasters and 4 different sets of dishtowels, none of which match the others? :?
