5 weeks of ****.

Where do i start.

Lets make this quick.

5 weeks ago we got a new kitten to add to our very large family.
We already have Kiki and Totoro - A Persian and ragdoll.

Jiji- Kitten vomits, and both the adult cats get sick a few days later.
During the course of these 2 weeks they lose there appetite and vomit. Kiki after a week gets better and starts eating but Totoro, its been a roller coaster.
We did ultrasounds, xrays, 2 lots of bloods, 2 lots of drips and everything is healthy except they got coronavirus and some bad bacteria in his gut more than good On and off vomiting wont eat the biome food, loses weight. Life is horrible.

8 days he eats ok, then relapses

More tests and everything nothing.

$7,000 the vets are saying, we are stumped we dont understand what is happening.

Then the below happens.

He vomits this huge hair ball on Sunday last week. Ive never seen anything like it and wanted to throw it in the vets faces. Obviously and no one can still confirm it this would have been the issue. Massive sign of relief things are going to get back to normal.

4 days later

He vomits this with all his food. This hairball was absolutely so dense it was like years of hair, i could not believe my eyes again and i couldn't even pull it apart, thats how tough it was.

the only a few days ago the smallest hair ball. Since then he has been eating, but i have PTSD at night waiting for him to vomit.
I am putting him on Gastrointestinal Hairball tonight and getting him off the kitten moouse and going back to his regular food when he wasn't sick.
I knew something was wrong, but the vets kept saying how sensitive he is blah blah blah when he had these monsters in him.

Fingers crossed. Its been 3 days and hes eating.

Its been **** and im so glad i can talk about it here as in the real world, people just look at them as just cats to get over it, when really, they are my everything

Thanks for listening.

If they weren't having the problem before you changed foods, then yes absolutely I would change their food back.

I also would suggest stopping any dry food and feed a canned food only diet which gives them needed moisture to pass fur through their system. Dry food absorbs moisture and is dehydrating. Cats have a low thirst drive and will not make up the difference at the water bowl.

Also, I would suggest brushing them daily with a brush like this one. You will be amazed what comes off of them. That's what they would have ingested:

And when one of your cats vomits a hairball, give them this:

It has an oil that makes things go down easier. Some cats like the taste and will lick it right off your finger. Other cats won't lick it off your finger, so you will have to wipe it on one of their paws so they lick it off.

Brushing the teeth is a good idea. I would like to recommend ORATENE pet tooth gel. It has virtually no flavor, and I have never had any animal dislike it. And it will prevent build-up of plaque and tartar on their teeth. You can get it online from Amazon and other places. A little goes a long way so it is not expensive even though each tube costs about $15.
