I have only ever had one cat and she has been on prescription food for years. I recently adopted two brothers that are 14 months old and healthy. I am not sure what to feed them. They were in a shelter and ate a mix of the donated food. I was given a small bag to mix with what I planned to feed them. I have tried science diet regular adult food and one of the boys threw up several times on that. My vet suggested Diamond brand which he is still throwing up some. I am taking him to the vet for a checkup but thought it might just be stress of a new home and new food.

One of my cats Sugar threw up alot on certain types of food too! Make sure you are switching gradually and not too often, it will disrupt an already sensitive stomach. I now feed my cats Chicken Soup and it does really well with them and it has great ingredients.

My girls get NutroNatural dry for kittens and a little Wellness canned. No fish for them, it makes them sooo stinky!

My biggest concern is making sure nothing I buy has "by-products", especially in this time of BSE (mad cow). I also refuse to buy from companies that engage in cruel animal testing, such as Iams.

It depends-my ferals eat get all the dry Cat Chow they can eat, and a can of Special Kitty mixed in with 2 heaping over bowls of Cat Chow in the morning. Gracie gets Proplan Extra Care-Natural Ingrediants because she also has a sensitive stomach, and that's the best thing I've found for her. My foster kitty, Skylar, gets Natural Balance reduced calorie formula.

I have a cat that is 14 yrs old and i feed him Science Diet Senior. He was having the trouble of throwing up and plus since he's old my vet told me to put him on a better food. I was giving him 9 lives before. He was eating 9 lives since he went on adult cat food and then I gradually got him on the Science Diet which he loves. I wish the Science Diet Senior canned food came in big cans but it doesn't. I see up to adult in the big cans but I want Senior. Oh well i don't mind the medium cans since I only give him a half a can anyways. @@

I was having a lot of problems with fred throwing up. He was eating Friskies dry as well as his wet food. I took away the dry and he was still vomiting. He is 16 years old so I know his insides aren't as tough as they used to be! Anyway, I switched his wet food to Nutro and also Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul and he is doing better. I also have been brushing him almost everyday and spending more time with him. I read that kitties crave attention and if they don't get enough, they will groom themselves to feel "attention", and then hairball problems can start.

Anyway, he is vomit free now and doing great.

Gandalf and Mooch are eating Iams Adult Formula Dry (Gandalf was eating Iams kitten formula, but when we acquired full grown Mooch, she ate his food)

Try switching him gradually over to a food which is hypo-allergenic and speak with your vet about this option as well.

The vomiting could be caused by many things, including a sensitivity or allergic reaction to an ingredient, be it the meat, the grains, or even the additives/preservatives said brand has used.

Dry Foods:
Solid Gold
Holistic Blend
Nature's Variety - Lamb & Rice

The diet my cats get changes every 6 months or so.

Right now they are eating Solid Gold & Chicken Soup for the Cat Lovers Soul dry. And every 2-3 days they get a helping of Wysong Rabbit canned.
