So I've had this stray cat come by my apartment for a year or so. He's (I'm assuming he's a boy) really friendly and loves human contact. He rubs up against my family and, during the summer, he likes to sleep under the bush right in front of our house for hours and hours.
He comes and goes, and my family hasn't tried catching him because we didn't know if he'd appreciate being caged inside a small apartment. We also have 2 other cats (females).
However, yesterday, the little guy was found right outside our front door. We have stairs that lead up to our apartment since we have a garage, and there are other apartments near us. As someone was coming in, he started meowing and running up the stairs to our front door before the person even came up the stairs.
At this point I really want to bring him inside but is that a good choice? What is the process to this anyway? Any suggestions help!

Before you let him meet your two cats, have him checked over by a vet for health issues, including testing for FIV and possibly other communicable diseases.

If you decide to keep him, you might end up wanting him to be an indoor/outdoor cat. He may want that, too! If he's already in the habit of spraying urine to mark his territory, he may never stop, and therefore not be suitable for indoor life. (That's the case with one of my cats who wasn't neutered until he was full grown.)

You didn't mention whether this boy's already been neutered. If not, that really needs to be done, whether you adopt him or not.
