I found two male kittens on the side of the road last night and we've decided to keep them. Cant take them to the vet yet because they're all closed for the 4th today (even though its the 5th). I'm wondering how old they have to be before I can neuter them. My female was done at about 16 weeks.

That will depend on your vet. One of my males was done at 16wks but some vets prefer not to do it until 6 months of age.

I was advised from 4 months onwards (ideal age between 4-6 mths to prevent spraying in male cats)

Dylan is being "done" at the end of August - 5 and a half months old

It's funny you should say that... A friend of my Mum's said if I had Dylan neutered too early his ear tips (typical in a Maine coon) wouldn't grow to be as big :(

Definately going to check out that article - been looking for something on it for ages and was about to put it down to myth!
