When I'm in the shower/get out of the shower? He meows for a bit when I'm in the shower then when I get out he's all over me. Pawing at me for attention, meowing, heavily purring, brushes against me and his tail gets kind-of puffy. It's so weird! It could be in the morning or when I get home from work and take a shower or in the middle of the day on a weekend. I just don't understand what's up with him. It's not a big deal, I was just wondering if there's any logic behind it.

Well, the logic from a cat's point of view is that you did a bad thing and washed all of his scent off you in the shower. That's how cats mark stuff as "theirs." So when you get out of the shower, he has to work real hard to re-mark you with his scent.

Oh, I suppose some of it is that he just likes you and is showing his affection. But either way, it's a normal cat thing so just enjoy it and all the other little cat things he does. I don't let mine in the bathroom while I shower, so I forgo that little pleasure. :D

I highly recommend reading books about cats, so you can learn why your cat does what it does. Here's several threads where such books were discussed:

If it's any consolation, my cat, Thomas, does exactly the same thing. When I turn on the shower, he comes running. As I get into the shower, he tries to grab my leg to stop me. He sits outside the shower the entire time I'm in there (sometimes he brings toys and throws them in the shower with me...thanks Tom).

When I turn off the water, he gets on the edge of the tub and starts crying and rubs himself on any part of my body he can reach.

I make him wait until I dry off completely, and then I pick him up for a cuddle. Where he rubs his face on my face. I think he just wants to apply his scent to me. There's nothing like cat fur sticking to your clean wet skin, especially on your face. :D
