I had to take Winston to the vet clinic today. He ripped a claw on Sunday and even I was treating it, last night he was snuggling with me when I noticed his paw had a really bad smell. I freaked out so I took him in today. He is still at the clinic.he has a bad infection. They had to sedate him to open the wound and drain it. Can't wait to bring my little fur baby home!

Jetlaya, I was wondering how Winston was doing...poor boy, so glad you picked up on the smell...

The cat I pet sit (Callie) who had ripped out her back nail was a really good girl about letting me check her foot and I'd notified her owners, so if it had looked like an infection was setting in, I already had clearance to get her to a vet...luckily, I didn't need to.

Hope Winston will be on the mend in no time now!

Jetlaya, Have you heard anything about Winston? Do you get to bring him home tonight?

He is home!!!! The vet called soon after I posted. I went to pick him up and he was very groggy still, with a cone of shame and a green bandage on his little paw. When we got home, I opened his carrier and he was very disoriented and wobbly. He is doing better now. He ate a little bit not long ago, gave him his antibiotic and painkiller. He is sleeping next to me now. I am just so glad he is going to be okay! I am a worrier when it comes to my fur babies. Thank you for all the good vibes and thoughts. He was such a trooper. He handled it a lot better than I did.

Winston must really have done a number on his paw/nail...
But he's home now and he will get better soon!!

AWW! What a cutie!! I sliced the very tip of my left index finger off and was howling like I had a broken leg! That tiny slice hurt like the dickens and 3 days later my friend convinced me to put some liquid plaster bandage on it and it STILL hurts!! I can't imagine some of the things our furbabies go through and the amount of pain they suffer because we don't realize how much pain they are in.

Winston is doing very well! He is back to his old self. Still on his antibiotics and had the last of his painkiller, but the cone of shame is out and so is the bandage! I am so happy he is better. I can't stand it when the fur babies are sick or hurting.
Thank you for your concern about Winston, I really appreciate it.

He is doing very well! Thanks for asking. He is done with his medicine and his toe is looking much better. Already back to harassing Nyska when she would rather sleep rather than play. Back to his old self. It was so sad, after his toe surgery, he was on my lap on my fluffy throw and was kneading with one paw! I felt so sorry for him!

Glad he's back to being himself!
Yeah, kind of hard to make biscuits with one paw!! ;):p
