How do cats get worms? Where do they come from? Do they get them from eating something bad?

If my cat is indoor only, do you think he needs to be treated with flea/tick/worm/heartworm preventative?

I do have an indoor dog, but he does go outside for potty, walks, play, etc. (he is treated for flea/tick/worm/heartworm).

My boy will be indoors for a while... if he can go without the meds for a while, then there is no point in spending the money or unnecessarily treating him.

He will eventually be outside though... I've heard good things about Revolution... my only concerns are that it doesn't prevent ticks. Does this concern anyone?
