Hello, sorry for the long post, if you want just to get to the issue, the fourth paragraph goes straigh to it
I am one of those guys who have an EXTREMELY hyperactive cat.
I though that maybe somthing is hurting the cat, but no, i checked with the cat, my kitty is simply a very hyperactive cat.
He is 1.5 years old (so yeah a little extra playfull since he is still young) and plays around 6-8 hours a day! meaning running, climmbing trees and chasing bugs (he gave up on birds). he weighs 4.5 killos and i still give him kitten food for the extra calories since he does so much sports.
Thanksfully in my neighborhood there are no fast cars (there is a kindergarden in the next house) and everyone has a cat so they let them out and my cat can play outside most of the day which includes his 4-5 hours of playtime.
And then at the house i still play with him for 1-2 hours which he demands (meows strongly and slaps my legs until i play with him. He loves playing with humans (he loves playing statues, chase and even loves to wrestle with me gently.
So, the issue started 3 months ago when i got a new cat (he is the same age of 1.5 years as my first cat). Happily the two cats ,after 1-2 months of slow supervised encouters, started to be friends and even play outside for a few hours a day. BUT the issue starts at night at 1 am, when my first superhypercat, (after the 6+ hours of playtime...) wants to play more, but i am asleep. So what he does is slapping the other cat to intrige it to play, but the other cat is exhausted, and starts to hiss at him. which triggers yowling, and the first cat hates trash-talking, which gets it worse... one time it even caused them to fight...But usually the new cat sadly tries to hide but cant and we need to help them.
At the moment, our solution is to seperate the cats at nights in diffrent appartment (luckily my parents live in the above apartment), but this isn't a final solution as my parent don't want, nor should, take care of my cat.
Anyone has an idea of what to do? I have tons of toys at my house which my hyper cat plays with, but after 1 hour he gets bored with them and wants us to move them for him... i tried electric toys, was perfect for 3 days or so, but then he got the pattern and got bored again...
When i had only him he would play the 6 hours and go to sleep and he couldn't do a thing against it so he slept or played with bugs he found in the house (two birds, one stone). But now he realizes that he can play with the new nonehyper-cat and thats what causing the issue.
