How many of you have to make this once a year sacrifice? I cannot have a christmas tree in my home because my cats will eat the branches and it doesn't matter if the christmas tree is fake, anything with fringes tempts my kitties to eat it. So I'm having my christmas tree in my cubicle at work. Oh well. That's life. I love my kitties so that is what I must do.

I haven't had a tree for years. A couple of years back I got one of those small like 3 foot trees. I had it where they couldn't really get to it and I didn't have any issues. I'm planning on putting it up this year again.

Baby does not mind the tree anymore. She likes to go under it and sleep for a while when she was younger.

But she has been getting better at it:

We try not to put ornaments on the bottom of the tree so she doesn't do anything to them.
She likes to knock the ornaments down and be Catzilla  :

I've always had a tree... but we have a fake one now. Jo tried climbing my parents' tree two years ago. We have a picture to prove it.

After we took the picture my dad got a spray bottle filled with water and squirted Jo. Jo only tried climbing the tree once more... never again. Though this year I'm thinking we're going to have to find a water bottle for Merlin... I just *know* he's going to climb our tree.

I was sure Otis would be a problem with the tree when i got him... but he didn't care at all. Then when I got Jasmine, I worried about the same thing... again, not many problems. Some strategic decorating and few breakable ornaments, and they are actually a lot better than i thought they'd be.

The tree went up again last night - i'll decorate it on the weekend when the novelty of a big green thing in the middle of their window has worn off on the cats... We'll see how lucky I am this year
