My cats wet food has veggies in it, so I can't see how it's bad. Veggies can't be their only food though, they need meat.

 

Mine used to steal green beans without butter or salt added even! She grew out of it though and ended up not having any interest in human food.

 

I won't reject cat food that contains vegi, but I won't and don't see the need to feed vegi whole. Firstly, he didn't ask for it. Secondly, I didn't give him a chance to steal it, to know if he will love it, lol...

 

Munch eats all sorts of veggies and fruit. I give them to him as a treat now and then, but not more than a small piece or two

My cat eats only dry food with the taste of fish, rabbit and something like that
She doesn´t like veggies.

 

When Jitzu is feeling healthy (*sigh*) some of her favorite foods are veggies. She LOVES potatoes (gets that from me, it's the Irish in me ), any sort of bread, and any food that has sauce on it; noodles, broccoli, peas, rice, if it has sauce she likes it.

lately she's been going crazy for bananas...no idea why, but we literally can't eat bananas without her begging for a bite. Silly kitty.

 

Not much nutritional value for (obligated carnivore) kitty but I don't see why a treat of it here and there would hurt. My only two concerns would be a) he's favoring gas producing veggies and b) if he eats more than a bite or two, he may fill up on it and not want his actual cat food. Otherwise a small bite passed to him shouldn't hurt.

 

My childhood cat LOVED cucumbers, apples, and watermelon/cantaloupe. The vet said it was fine back then, and she was getting a lot of water content, but it was hilarious how my parents conceded to Mocha's demands. She got first dibs whenever salad was made and my poor dad would sometimes eat his apples out on the porch if he didn't want to hold the pieces for her first. She'd come running from a dead sleep across the house once she heard the peeler in action lol.

 

I don't let my cats eat any vegetables from my plate, mainly because I don't want them to learn to beg or trying to eat off my plate. I do give them pumpkin on occasion, as the fiber helps my girl cat's digestive issues.

When feeding cats fruits/veggies, you want to make sure to avoid onion (also garlic) and grapes/raisins- those are toxic to cats.

 

Monkey will eat anything (or at least attempt to). I had some steamed snow peas the other day and put one on his plate, he chewed it for a while, then started batting it around the kitchen.

 

No veggies in this house to steal. :grin:
