I went to the supermarket with my mother the day before I left home to return to school. I had intended to go to an Asian market the whole time, but I never got around to it. As we walked past the butcher section I said to my mom how I wish they carried kidneys as I've only been able to find liver. Welllll... lo and behold, as we went into the shrink-wrapped fresh meat section, KIDNEYS!! I'm sure if anyone saw my reaction they would've thought I was crazy. They were packaged in pairs of 2 beef kidneys... and boy are they huge, and about $2!
I was so excited to go home and cut them up (and boy, do they stink!). Does anyone know what the hard, white material is in the center of the kindeys? I imagine it is connective tissue and such, so I figure it is alright to feed?
I also got my kitchen scale from Santa :luv so now I can get used to portion sizes and begin to feel even better about what I'm feeding!
