How to get Evo if you live in Canada?

There are these cat treats thats Evo makes that I really want to try(for my cats, not me lol) and I also want to try a few varieties of wet to see if they will eat it because most wet food they won't touch. The problem is that no in Canada sells this... Recently I knew people who went on vacation in NYC.... I asked them to look for any Evo products. They went to 5 pet stores and not one place carried it.

I have tried a ton of websites to order from but when I put my address it says cannot be shipped to your address. I tried ordering a whole ago from my old address and had the same issue. I did find a site one time that would ship to Canada but they wanted $90 to ship 4 small cans. Gah! I hung up on them.

I really want to try these products but it seems impossible to get. Thanks.

Yes...I'm in the Mississauga area, and Global here also sells EVO, along with many other good quality foods and pre-made raw. That's where I buy all the girls' food. And, yes, they will order for you, since I've placed several special orders with them. Each order arrived in less than a week, so they seem to be pretty quick.

Oh shoot, I use to live near the one in Mississauga. I always wanted to try it but was warned that the prices were outrageous(?). I did hear however, that they carry a lot of stuff most stores don't. I'm very very excited to check it out tonight! :) if they have pre made cat raw I may try it to see how disgusted my girls are by it. Lol

We do have pet value in Ontario, I've been to a bunch in search of it but haven't seen it there yet.

Around here, you can't walk into a store that doesn't carry EVO... any small independent pet store carries the regular higher quality foods and often more obscure ones as well, and any chain store does as well.

Any store that carries EVO may be able to order in the treats you're talking about from their distributor. I've done that with Chicken, Turkey, White Fish and Liver from Solid Gold; not that's a harder one to find.

I'd suggest checking out lower profile stores, Pet Valu (known as Bosley's in BC) is outrageously over priced compared to other pet stores I've visited on most of their products. We don't have Global Pets here, but from other members posts on its prices, they are incredibly steep as well.

I pay 1.89 for a large tin of EVO, Bosley's charges 2.89 for the larger tins; their prices may have lowered since then due to the competition, but I haven't been back!

Ya that's why I don't shop at pet value often. It's almost double the price of anywhere else. Petsmart has poor selections here too I find. Ya I heard that global pet foods are steep, I'll check it out and get a few cans of Evo to see f they like it. If they do I'll have to shop around for it cheaper. There's an independent pet store near my work that I should really check out.

Oh my, that's expensive. Thats why I don't want to waste wet food if they won't eat it.

Ya I find wellness to be expensive for wellness. I get blue wilderness cans if they are sale. I stocked up and my girls decided they hate this now. Sigh.

Have you heard of big Al's? It's a store that sells fish/aquariums. Well the one near me also has a dog groomer attached to it. I made an appointment for my dog and I noticed a full pet store attached to it. This was the first places found the new wellness core flavours and I found the cat perch there. They didn't have Evo but they had merrick and Fromm which I don't see often.

Haha Big Al's is notorious here for being able to get you any fish you're looking for. My mom bought seahorses there for a long time (but they only sold them on Thursday mornings, before 10am). Even if they're legit animals it's pretty shady seeming. They're an awesome store to browse in, though, if you dig fish (no attached pet store here, seems fish-only, but I haven't been in years since my mom stopped with the saltwater hobby).

I think I'm, well, I hesitate to say 'getting fleeced', but I'm paying more then I have to for Wellness and Evo at the little shop I go to. It's def. more expensive than some of the chains (Pet Planet, Petsmart). But they always have exactly what I want, are always really nice and friendly to me, don't give me weird unsolicited advice, and have even offered to drive me home on occasion. I figure with the 5% discount, it's not really that much more expensive and I prefer to support the local business even if it means paying an extra $0.15 /can (since I can afford it, not grudging those who do what they have to).

That said if I could find food cheaper online anywhere I would switch in a heartbeat because I hate lugging 36 13oz cans home.

Lol, well thats the first time I have seen a big Al's dog groomer/pet store attached. I been to a few and that's the first time I saw it. They have a lot of pet stuff considering. It's cheaper then pet value too. I love looking at the tropical fish, sharks and creepy water creatures. Lol.

If I shop at petsmart I usually get the on sale good stuff but if I go to big AL's, global, etc and find good quality stuff I can't find anywhere I'll get it.

Ya online isn't cheaper considering shipping. I couldn't believe how much they wanted in shipping for just a few cans, I thought they were joking at first

In addition to cats, I also have a saltwater tank, so I'm familiar with Big Al's! There are only two Big Al's in the GTA and surrounding areas that also cater to dogs/cats: one in Scarborough and the other in Hamilton. The one in Scarborough carries Wellness, and I've bought from there before when I happened to be at the store, although Scarborough is a fair distance to travel for me. I've searched high and low for stores in the area that carry high-quality food...but many of the brands I like are only available at Global, and it's the only place where I've seen EVO around here. I have seen the EVO treats at Pet Valu, but not the food.

Yes, I live near the Hamilton one. :) I am so mad. Not only did they NOT have evo, the lady was like do you mean evolve? That was another food but clearly not the same thing. She has never heard of the brand. Really?? This was at Global pet foods too. Arg. I did get Go!, nature's variety instincts and taste of the wild. The instincts was a hit luckily but I am still mad. I found some treats that were almost like the evo ones. I don't understand why I am having such a hard time tracking this food down. It's sooo frustrating. Back to my online search it seems. :(

Aww...that's too bad. If you live close to the Hamilton Big Al's, then I'm guessing you went to Global Pet Foods in Stoney Creek (I used to live in Stoney Creek). There are a few other stores in and around Hamilton. If you have no luck online, you might call one of them and see if they carry EVO, although you'd likely have to buy in bulk to make it worth the extra drive.

Yep that's the one I went to. It was small and their cat section was pitiful. There was lots of dog stuff but not much cat. I am going to try a bigger global pet foods that's on my way home from work. There's one on appleby... Have you been to that one? The website claims they have it but it might just mean they carry dog dry food. I might have to call and ask first.

I didn't even know about the one on Appleby until I stumbled upon it, looking for something else, a few weeks back. But I wasn't looking for EVO at the time, so I can't say if they carry it. Still, if their website refers to it but they don't have it in stock, you could always ask them if they could order it for you. Since the store is on your way home from work, it would at least be a convenient alternative going forward. I try to avoid online purchases for the most part, because like you, I've found shipping costs to be beyond belief.

Ya I might just go anyways. Worst case I can grab more cans of instincts since they seem to like that. It sounds like it would have more varieties as well... The wet food section was tiny at the one I went to last night was tiny. But if it says they carry Evo they must carry something and ya it's not out of my way but if this place doesn't have it I'm out of options, as all the other stores it says carries it are far away.

Ya I've decided not to do online. The time I stock up, shipping would be more than the actual food. Lol

The idea if EVO being hard to find is just bizarre to me. I used that where to buy thing on their website and there's 6 places (I've visited all) in my city listed, all 10 minutes or less away. That is almost every pet store in the city, I can think of three dog/cat related petstores that don't - the one in the mall that mostly sells pets and doesn't carry food (although come to think of it they now have a small selection of food, EVO being one of them! Yet it is not on the list), PJ's Pets, and Petsmart. I also noticed it's not up to date, there's a new pet store that carries it in my city, but its location is not listed even though the place is over 6 months old and that its other locations in other cities are listed. In Vancouver there's over 20 locations listed.

Yay!! So I called the Burlington one and they have it. They said some of the flavours are getting discontinued and they will be cutting back on the amount they have but they have lots in stock now. So I am going to stock up while I can. They better eat the darn stuff now after all the trouble I'm going through . Lol
