Is there a soap or shampoo that is safe to use on 5 week old kittens?

Have a look at drzoo.com.au. All their products are 100% natural and fully edible. Their shampoo is marketed primarily for dogs, but can actually be used on cats (or any other animals). I use it on mine and wouldn't use anything else now (I also use their human range on myself). They are an Australian company, but I'm pretty sure they ship internationally.

Any all natural pet shampoo will be fine. Lots of brands out there, but two that are pretty popular are Earthbath and Tropiclean.

I wouldn't use Dawn unless there's a reason to...fleas, got into some grease or oil etc.

I contacted the makers of Dawn a couple years ago about using it on kittens/cats and they said Dawn is for extreme conditions (oil, grease, severe flea infestation) only.

Oh whoops I thought you had kittens with fleas! When I fostered 5 little week old kittens, they had a severe flea infestation. I used Dawn and it was like a miracle. For regular bathing (which is extremely rare), I use this Tropiclean shampoo I bought from the pet store I work in. It smells so good.

thank you for saying that about Tropiclean. I was looking at shampoos awhile back because Diotima wet herself at the vet's and was there overnight so they used Fort Dodge spot cleaner on her. I thought it was a full bath, and it smelled so good I was disappointed to see that it isn't recommended for complete baths. she doesn't do it all the time, but sometimes she sits in her pee (old age). she also kind of gets that old lady cat smell, probably from not grooming quite as well as she used to. I looked at the Tropiclean and some people commented on the smell but I wasn't sure. I will probably get some. :)

(I have been using an aloe no-rinse bed bath stuff for humans except I rinse it really well. it doesn't smell though, she just doesn't smell like pee.)

I use the Tropiclean Papaya on Jake...it smells wicked good and doesn't make me sneeze (I'm allergic to most scents). They also make scent mists that you can use between baths.

The Spray sounds like a good idea for after you've had to take your cat to the Vet..especially with multi cat households!
A little spritz on everyone and should be good to go! :D
