I need dry cat food, my vet put her back on pro pectalin it has been 3 days since she was on it. and everytime she eats this wet food she gets bad bad diarrhea still. she keeps diarrheaing on the carpet. the vet think its to much carbs or to much in high protien wants me to switch to something a litle bit low to see if that helps. but what is low carbs and protien? something moderate. i frogot to ask how long i should have kept her on pro-pecatlin without her geting into conspitatiion :( this is really bad i really want her to get on firm stools really bad.

please list all the foods so i can try something different that is less carbs and not much protien.

Do you need a food with lower protein or with lower carbs?

The small amount of kibble we feed is Orijen Cat & Kitten. I've heard others recommend Chicken Soup for Cats (or something like that) as a good food.

But, as Kayla said, usually low-protein foods are high in carbs, and vice versa, so you need to know what you're looking for before you buy a huge bag.

How long was she eating wet food, and what kind of wet was it? Usually you should feed the same food for a week or so (exclusively, not with kibble) to allow their tummies time to settle. Also, the lower-end wet foods (like Friskies, Special Kitty, etc) give my cat the runs and nasty farts, but she has no problems with the higher-quality stuff (and eats it exclusively).

Can you add a probiotic into her food? (dump a capsule into whatever you are feeding her). You've tried some excellent foods. How old is your cat?
How often do you switch the food.
I noticed when we rescued our kittens, any food change would cause smelly, runny poo. The acidophilus (probiotic) helped, but they still needed time to adjust to their food. Can you stick with something for a month and see how she's doing?
I am so sorry about your baby not feeling well.

she also has probiotic from the vet she has predisone and probiotic even have pro pectalin but i don't want to use to much of it i use it when needed casue it could cause conspitation she also had a dewormer and those anti bacertia medicine the first 2 times i took her.
i don't know what to give her though either i stop giving dry or deal with diarrhea non stop if i feed her wet. i tried wet diet for her 1 week worth i think back in april thats when i notice so much diarrhea and took her to the vet. she probably develop ibs.
she is only 6 years old :\

she has 1 weeks wroth of probiotic and still no change. i am battling this since april. i feel like there is no more options for me. either i deal with it or find something to help her.

what is the most affordable wet food that i can stick with for both my cats?? reason why i switch cause i like to spoil on a rabbit or a lamb that is way expensive 2.29 for a can :\ but what is one brand that i can probably afford that i can stick with for 2 cats? i like to go back on evo i'm still scared abotu the recall so i'm giving it another month.

reason i change because of the evo recall then sometimes i like to spoil my cat on rabbit and lamb to expensive to feed every single day. this is for my other cat. but i don'tknow a trustworthy brand that won't do a recall. i like to stick to 2 food or 3 just incase recalls happen. but i don't know which one is affordable that falls under 50 bucks for both cats i'm doing well i went 5 over the limit but i manage somehow. i liked evo but i'm still worried about that cause of the recalls

I know several friends with cats with diarrhea issues that have had wonderful luck with Natural Balance Venison and Green Pea, or Duck and Green Pea. One friend tried eveyrthing, and had every test done before trying the NB and having luck with it. You may want to give that one a try. I know it is not grain free and probably not low carb, but something about that food was what worked for this friend who had tried all of the good foods.

it said grain free when i saw it i decided to order a bag before i get wet food. just can't budget wetfood this month :( so i got me duck and pea i would loveto buy the wet food but having 2 cats is costly feeding them on high quality diet. I even have to budget doing half friskies and by nature for my cat cause of her urinary problems i got friskies special diet mixing it with the good food. i don't know if thats bad but thats how tight i am :(

seems pumpkin made it worst for her don't know if it was diarrhea but it was sorta mushy but it wasn't dripping like the other one. i only gave her 2ml so i won't have overdo it. may have to stick with slippery elm but i don't khow much i can give her all at once since she had medicine. i'm hoping natural balance does work if it doesn't i wouldn't know what to do. those limited ingrdient forumla is to expensive for the can to feed her everday i may have to do half wet and half dry if the wet formula works how would i do that :( i got 2 cats with special diets now its hurting my bank.
i'm a future college student too this will be very tight on me

There are a whole bunch of better dry foods out there, even switching to an all home cooked or raw diet supposedly eliminates any health issues your cat may have. I have yet to switch to raw so i'm not sure. It can be rough to transition your cat from dry food alone though.

Personally, I started feeding my cat Taste Of The Wild and I got a 15 lb bag of for a decent low price. The other Diamond products I would recommend would be only Diamond Naturals and Chicken Soup that are also good and reasonably priced. Other brands of food will cost a lot more like Innova, Earthborn, SolidGold(tried this myself), Wellness, etc. and you would be expected to pay more for higher quality ingredients.
